About this formation
I think Rooney is better as a lone striker than as a No.10. Di Maria made his name as a shuttling central player drifting wide, Mata does the opposite, Valencia provides width and Carrick has more physical presence than Blind who is dropped to left-back. Re shuffle to accomodate RVP by shifting Rooney to No.10, Mata to RW, Di Maria to LW and 4-2-3-1.
