About this formation
I picked this formation because I'm not liking what Hiddink is putting on the field at the moment.
3 CBs provide more security. van Dijk and de Vrij stop attackers, Veltman is here to start the build-up.
van der Wiel and Willems have a complicated roll. They need to act as defenders if needed, but also as wingers when the option is there.
Nigel de Jong and Kevin Strootman are the engine of the team. de Jong helps the defense, while Strootman mainly supports the attackers, but also defends whenever the need arises.
Sneijder and Robben are among the world's best in their respective roll. Together with Huntelaar, who scores a shitload of goals whenever you need it, they have a free roll to slide into gaps and punish the opposing goalkeeper for playing against them.
In short, this formation offers more defensive security (something the current Dutch squad lacks) while keeping the attacking brilliance needed to win games.
