About this formation

I did a 5-4-1 like formation for Chelsea's upcoming away league match vs West Brom. Chelsea doesn't really have their football "swagger" early this season. They have drawn against Swansea and loss horribly against Manchester City, 3-0. I understand there are some downfalls for Chelsea this season, you know Ivanovic getting beaten by little Swansea winger, Jefferson Montero, Courtois red card, Terry substituted at halftime vs City, and Fabregas not helping the defense. There were some upgrades lately for Chelsea. They recently signed a pure left back, Baba Rahman from Augsburg. They also agreed fees with Barca star winger, Pedro Rodriguez. But the question is, can these two help the team? In my guess, yes. Baba is better than Filipe Luis because Baba can both play attack and defence. And Pedro has been a exciting condsideration than flop Juan Caudrado who could be leaving the Bridge. But this is my line-up. Mourinho doesn't normally play 5 defenders with one defensive midfielder but this might work, here's why. First off I will talking about the wingbacks, Ivanovic and new signing, Baba. Okay, so Ivanovic hasn't really achieved the vice captain qualities this season yet. Ivanovic has been recently had his own taste of medicine after getting destroyed against Swansea winger, Jefferson Montero, Man City winger, Raheem Sterling and Man City left back, Aleskander Kolorav. Ivanovic is a strong right back and what I call a natural goalscorer especially in set pieces. He is a good crosser and great when he goes forward. So why can't he just play RWB so he help the defense and also be a threat going forward supporting Willian. Baba is what I call a Ashley Cole. He has the speed, the mind, crossing, defending. But Azpilicueta could be an option for both RWB or LWB but it seems like Baba could make way for his debut. The center backs, Zouma, Cahill, Terry have all played together before but in seperate positions. Zouma played CDM alongside Matic with Cahill and Chelsea captain, Terry. Terry needs more support nowadays. So with 3 centerbacks, 2 wingbacks, and one big CDM, more support to block opposing wingers and forwards like Memphis Depay, Alexis Sanchez, Christian Benteke, and Harry Kane. Chelsea's main problem this season which brings pissing upsets from fans are the defense. Fabregas was pointed out for not helping the defense vs City. Now with the Serbian giant, Matic, we now have completed a solid 6 in the defensive side of the half. Now the diamond on the attack. Since Fabregas is creative and plays better in the attack, he can certainly be a huge threat vs West Brom by sending fearful passes to the wide flanks. With Ivanovic, Baba, and Matic who can go forward, I put Willian and Hazard on the flanks. Willian who also loves to go inside and bring fright to the opposing defenders can really bring Chelsea going. Ramires who loves to go outside of the flanks can bring speed and space for more Chelsea players. But I prefer Willian over Ramires. Pedro might be signed on the 20th and can still be eligible for the clash can play all attacking positions. Pedro makes dribbling a threat to many defenders. Pedro loves to score so this brings Hazard, Costa, Remy, Ivanovic and probably Falcao in touch. I put Falcao in the CF position. Most people may prefer Costa and even Remy over him but this is why. Falcao loves defenses that leave him open which West Brom has done a lot last season. Falcao couldn't really adapt against Man City on Sunday. But if Mourinho puts Fabregas over Oscar in the No.10 role and starts Falcao this gives a chance for him to finally adapt to a more creative midfielder. Falcao is not Torres. Chelsea players shouldn't play Falcao like if he was Torres. Torres is like a winger-striker or a wide forward. Falcao is more like a center type who likes to play in pockets and turn over and strike or even cause problems for defenders. Falcao had the Torres like problem at Manchester United last season where they played him like the "Chelsea like" Torres. Falcao needs to excel the No.9 shirt this season. If he can bag goals and win games or even silverware, he probably stay at Chelsea. On the bench is Blackman, Azpilicueta(Baba), Mikel, Oscar, Ramires, Costa, Remy. I predict Chelsea will come back with a 3-0 or 3-1 win over West Brom on Sunday. Hazard will score 2 goals and Falcao will score.
