About this formation
This is a very attacking formation for Arsenal that allows for midfield domination while giving many attacking options. Wilshere and Ramsey plays box to box down the wings and can also drift infield to flood the midfield. Designed to win the ball back as soon as possible to be played to Cazorla or Ozil to find attacking threats. Walcott, Sanches and Chamberlain all provide pace on the attack. Metensacker can prevent crosses. Koscielny and Gabriel are great ball winners and can drift wide to protect against wing attacks.
Walcott can also play out wide to make space for Giroud if target man is needed.
Whilshere can be replaced by Monreal, and Ramsey by Bellerin as a more defensive option if the oposing team is threatening down the wing.
Coquelin is another good defensive option in the midfield and can replace Cazorla.
