About this formation
In my opinion, this 4-3-3 formation is Akron's best formation if Sam can go full time. If not, they'll switch to a 4-4-2 and play the Portuguese Soares MF on the right with the four mids staggered and fluid side to side. Akron is the so hard to place a formation on because they're play can flow vastly from different acting schemes, much like the Dutch Total Football, where the aim was not to have players that couldn't play fluid positions -- one of Porter's main inspirations that is still the entire philosophical aim on Embick, albeit in a different secondary style.
