About this formation
A 5-2-1-2 which can also be taken as a 3-4-1-2, focuses mainly on the versatility of the outside defenders who push all the way up the field with the midfielders but get back on defense which offers a 4 or 5 man attack at times while still keeping 5 on defense, and in the case of the wing backs not getting back in time, the holding midfielders drop into defensive positions and if necessary push the outside Centre Backs to the edges until the Wings can get back.
