This is 4-3-3 with a false 9. Smalling and Bailly are two very quick and athletic defenders, with them two as a partnership, teams have had a hard time getting passed them. Valencia and Shaw are two very quick fullbacks that have the ability to overlap wingers and cross the ball into the area to create many chances. Although he has not lived up to his standard and price tag, Paul Pogba is still a talented player and has lots of great physical characteristics. He is a box to box midfielder meaning he will help the attack and be able to recover the ball in midfield. He is fast and he is very strong, it is very difficult for a player to dispossess him without giving away a foul. He can do skill moves and win many headers as well. In this formation, he will be the one who moves the most out of the three midfielders. Carrick has amazing qualities, he is more of CDM in my opinion as he usually stays in position, moving around in the middle of the pitch to open up to the man with possession so he can send him on a run or creatively attack with a different approach. Because Carrick is always in position, it is easy for him to be able to defend against the playmaker from the other team or to cut out passes that the opposition is trying to make. Rooney is not a definite player in this XI, he can be replaced with Mata but I feel that Rooney is still a great player. He has lost some of his striking capabilities but he still has great vision, creates many chances, and I feel that he is able to get into many goal scoring opportunities. Although he doesn't finish most of them he is still a real threat because if given more chances eventually the opposition will concede. I feel that in games he sometimes has more goal scoring opportunities than others because of his excellent positioning. He also has the ability to play great passes to the wingers which is why he is in my XI. Ibrahimovic is the CF in this XI because he is tall, skillful, strong, and has amazing striking capabilities. He is the complete forward. He will be able to hold off the CB trying to defend dispossess him and by him pulling back into an area the CB will be confused on whether they should pick him up or let him come towards them. Because Zlatan is a great striker and always has been, he will definitely know how to play a pass to winger or score a goal with the amount of time he will be given. The two wingers can be any wingers from United, they are all quick, cut inside to take shots, or cross. In this formation, they will always stay wide to receive many balls from Zlatan or any of the midfielders. They will also expect both fullbacks to make overlapping runs to create an overload when attacking.
