About this formation

2011-12 could finally be the season when Manchester City win the Premier League ahead of fierce rivals Manchester United. Having defeated them 6-1 earlier in October, City have been on top of the Premier League. The class of 2012 is Joe Hart in goal, who has made himself a household name now. Gael Clichy is at left-back, with Joleon Lescott and Vincent Kompany at centre-back, both players fantastic defenders. Micah Richards, who has been at City for years now even though he's only 23, is right-back, having kept that position since 2006. Gareth Barry and Adam Johnson make up the midfield, both playing on the wing occasionally. The attacking side of City looks incredibly fierce: although last season's top scorer Carlos Tevez has been relegated to the bench, they have new signing Sergio Aguero, who is currently impressing in his first season in England. David Silva is a brilliant player, and so is Samir Nasri, having signed from Arsenal in the summer. Edin Dzeko is the lone striker (Aguero can be played as a striker too) up front. Since his arrival from Wolfsburg in January, Dzeko flopped in 2010-11, but his first full season at the Etihad Stadium has been so far a success. Manchester United fans reading this won't be very happy, but I believe this side can steer City to their first top-flight title for the first time since 1977, and it would be sweeter if they retained the FA Cup they won last season, but first they have to negotiate their way past their city rivals in the third round in January.
