About this formation:
I believe this should be the formation for at least the first friendly, gets the best formation out of the available players. Allows Bradley and Donovan to play more of the inverted wingers while Cherundolo and Castillo will bomb the flanks with crosses and Torres can distribute centrally.
Also Dempsey will get more looks with being behind Altidore and closer to Torres but will also allow him to be closer to goal so he can do what he does best...score goals; and of course Altidore stays up top to continue to mature as a target forward.
