About this formation:
The obvious Tim Howard takes his place in the nets with rookies Ream and Gonzalez controlling the back line, and De La Garza and Chandler providing pace on the wings.
Maurice Edu and Michael Bradley provide cover for the back, while being able to distribute out to the skill of either Clint Dempsey, Landon Donovan and Stuart Holden.
With this passing trio, and understanding between them, they can easily set up either the speed or hold up play of Charlie Davies up top to finish the final ball.
