Notes: Southampton seemed to play a classic 4-4-2 formation rather than the officially announced 3-4-3/3-4-2-1 with Tella partnering Broja as forwards, Redmond as left-sided midfielder and Salisu as LB at the beginning of the game, but after 3-4 minutes of play, that feeling evaporated quickly as Liverpool forced them to play a counterattacking 5-4-1 most of the game; the formation above display how the team attacked Liverpool during most of the game
