About this formation
Vasco da Gama won the South American title (Libertadores da América) in 1998 with one the greatest squad of all time. Unfortunately, the defensive midfielder Nasa committed an own goal in the Clubs World Cup final match against Real Madrid, giving the world champion title to the merengues. During this final match, it was visible that Vasco da Gama was dominating the spanish Dream Team, but the Gods of Football were not in a good mood towards the Gigante da Colina that day, so Vasco couldn't score any of the clear cut goal chances.
