About this formation
I chose this formation because it is really good when counterattacking and it is also good when playing possession with too, because of the wide midfielders.
The back 4 consists of two centre backs and two full backs, the full backs are defensively minded, but can whip in a cross from deep and provide width rarely.
Our defensive midfielder, Alonso need to be exceptional at tackling, interception and must also have ball control and composure to hold the ball when the team is reorganizing after defense.
The two wide midfielders have different roles, Øzil is a attacking midfielder with flair, his job is to attack down the wing,skipping past players and delivering that through ball to the forwards. Øzil also need stamina to be able to track down opposition players in his own half. Leons job is to use his work rate and team work ability to get crosses from deep and from the byline.
Ronaldo is a complete forward and excels in all areas, he will score on crosses from leon and through balls from the midfield.
Higuain is not as good as Ronaldo in duels so we rather use his accelleration and pace to latch onto through balls and provide more crosses to Ronaldo from the right flank.
