About this formation

When attacking make sue only one of the full backs is pushing forward, the other needs to sit back incase of a counter attack.

The defensive midfielder sits to protect to defence at all times including freekicks & corners, if a full back is caught out of position the DM fills in but will need to make sure both other centre mids are in position before you do so as not to leave the team exposed to opposition central runners.

In this defensive setup the right sided forward will also drop back to back a 4 man midfield if the pressure from the opposition is sustained for a period of passers/minutes.

When on the attack the right sided centre mid should look to push forward at the right time looking to exploit gaps left in the opposition midfield & the space between the midfield & defence. When on the ball he can look for support from the right sided forward from either a rear of wing position.

If it's a counter attack & the full backs have not yet joined the attack then the left sided centre mid can also push on but don't go past the right sided mid player.

The striker should be looking to create space or a through ball by penetrating any gaps in the defence to try & get goal side with the left outside forward looking to pull inside & offer support on the edge of the area, remember the pitch is a small space so try not to pack the 18 yard box with too many bodies, the left forward needs to stay on the edge of the box to look for pin point crossing opportunities or if available a long range shot.

When on the ball the left forward should be looking to run at the defence with the intention of breaking through the defensive line to get a shot off or a side ball to the striker.

Whenever in position of the ball never be scared to play the ball backwards, if there isn't a forward pass available then play it back in order to keep possession, but as soon as you've played the ball look to move into a different space to try & bring out an opposition player from their position so you or a team mate can exploit the gap.
