About this formation
this is a formation emphasizing the youth the U.S. has at its disposal altidore plays as a traditional number 9/target man. break shea and josh gatt play as traditional wingers, staying wide on their respective sides and pulling the fullbacks out to cover them. this would allow for dempsey and holden to move into space right outside the box in support of altidore. bradley would sit in front of the back 4, providing cover for them and allowing chandler and johnson to play more as wingbacks than traditional fullbacks.
