What this formation is essentially a way of keeping both the attacking and defending styles of a wingback, whilst keeping pressure on midfield strong. This was inspired by the lacking 5 2 3 formation, which is good in defense and attack, but lacking on midfield and putting enormous pressure on the central midfielders. the sweeper has been replaced by two centre backs. As for chelsea, the only players that can work with the attacking demand of the right wingback are jose bosingwa, and ivanovic. The lack of a right attacking midfielder leaves the entire right wing, both defense and offense, in the hands of the right wingback. Ivanovic and bosingwa are the only capable trademark right backs that can work with this demand. Attacking should be strong; if neymar is not purchased from santos Zhirkov, Kalou, and even Yossi Benayoun can play in this position. Sturridge and torres could swap starting positions, but the expirience of didier drogba should leave him in goal always. Lampard should enjoy a centre attacking midfield position.
