Juventus Football Formation
Lineup (4-4-2)
Buffon · Chiellini · Bonucci · Ziegler · Lichtsteiner · Vidal · Pirlo · Vargas · Krasic · Quagliarella · MatriThe most likely formation for Juventus in the 2011/2012 season.
The new players Conte and Marotta has already brought in is Pirlo, Ziegler and Lichtsteiner (along with Pazienza).
Matri and Quagliarella were both signed on permanent deals earlier this month, and even though the media keep insisting that they want to add another striker like Rossi or Aguero, I just don't think that will happen. Matri and Quagliarella will form a perfect partnership up front, and they don't want to splash millions of Euros on another striker.
Conte likes to play a 4-4-2 formation, with advanced wide midfielders - a lot like Del Neri (a lot of people think he will play a 4-2-4 formation, but that's not completely true). In order for Conte to be able to play his preferred formation, he has to bring in another wide midfielder, who is able to operate on the left side. For the last few month, Michel Bastos has been linked strongly with Juventus, but Antonio Conte doesn't think he will fit in with his tactics, and therefore they have turned their focus elsewhere - and I think they are considering Juan Manuel Vargas from Fiorentina instead.
In the midfield it looks very likely that Felipe Melo is leaving, and Conte sees Vidal as the perfect partner for Pirlo. Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen are already discussing a possible transfer, and Marotta and the other officials will meet with Vidals agent later this week.
So there you have it; the formation for the 2011/2012 season.
