Sweden Dream Team
Sweden are one of the best Nordic countries in football.
Many legendary Swedes have represented the national team. Their Best world cup result was in 1958 where they finished runners-up.
So I have decided to create my own Swedish team
GK: Ronnie Hellström
One of the best Swedish goalies of all time, he mainly played with Hammarby and FC Kaiserslautern and represented the swedes in 3 world cups.
He sees off competition against the likes off Thomas Ravelli and Kalle Svensson.
RB: Roland Nilsson
One of the best Swedish defenders, Nilsson played in 3 world cups and is the 9th most capped Swedish player with 116 caps.
CB: Orvar Bergmark
A key player at the 1958 world cup, Bergmark reached the finals with superstar players like Gunnar Gren, Nils Liedholm, and Kurt Hamrin.
Bermark also managed Sweden at the 1970 world cup.
Another key player that could have featured was former Liverpool legend Glenn Hysén and Olof Mellberg, who played for Juve and captianed the team
CB: Björn Nordqvist
With 92 appearances for Sweden as captain, Björn Nordqvist is their 9th most capped player with 115 caps.
Nordqvist captained the team in the 1970 and 78 world cups and played in the 1974 world cup.
LB: Patrik Andersson
The former Bayern defender played for the team for about a decade and was a key member of the team, captaining them at the 2002 world cup.
CM: Henrik Larsson
One of the best Swedish footballers of all time, Larsson played for Feyenoord, Celtic, Man United and Barcelona.
He played at 3 world cups and 3 euros and played a major role in helping Swden finish 3rd at the 1994 world cup.
CM: Nils Liedholm
A key part of the Swedish team of the 1940s and 50s, Niedholm captained them at the 1958 world cup.
He was a key part of AC Milan's Gre-No-Li trio.
Glenn Strömberg could have also featured, making 52 appearances from 1982 and 1990. Legend Bo Larsson and the team's most capped player Anders Svensson also could have featured
AM: Freddie Ljungberg
An Arsenal legend, Ljungberg was Sweden's captain for Euro 2008.
He made 75 appearances for Sweden, scoring 14 goals.
RF: Gunnar Gren
Another member of Milan's Gre-No-Li trio, Gren played the 1958 world cup at age 37, helping the team finish 2nd.
These achievements keep Serie A legends Kurt Hamrin and Lennart Skoglund, along with Sven Rydell and Agne Simonsson out of the team.
LF: Gunnar Nordahl
With more goals than games for Sweden, he is another member of the Gre-No-Li trio and is one of the most famous Swedish footballers.
He is also the all-time top-goal scorer for AC Milan.
CF: Zlatan Ibrahimović
Zlatan is the best Swedish footballer ever and has played for PSG, Juve, AC and Inter Milan, Barca, LA Galaxy and Ajax.
He is also well-known for his personality.
