The midfield relies on a three man midfield with a carrier to link the phases of play. Douglas Luiz acts as a deep lying playmaker to recycle possession and move the ball from the defenders to the attackers. Fagioli connects the lines by finding space between the opposition midfield and defence. Koopmeiners drives forward with the ball and makes late runs into the box to add an extra goal threat. This trio works to win the second ball and press aggressively to win it back high up the pitch.

Juventus uses three attackers across the front to pin the last defender. Vlahovic operates as a pressing centre forward who holds up the ball to bring others into play. Yıldız plays as an inverted winger who cuts inside to create goal scoring chances from the left. Zirkzee occupies the right wing and looks to find the feet of the striker or pull wide to create space. The forwards work in combinations to break the line and deliver crosses into the box.

This lineup offers several tactical advantages. The team can create wide overloads when Cambiaso and Yıldız combine on the left side. There is also a high level of compactness when defending in a mid block which makes it hard for opponents to play through the thirds. The speed of transition allows the front three to hit in behind on the transition once the midfield wins the ball.
