Fortaleza focuses on a high press and quick transitions, utilizing a 4-5-1 formation. This lineup is built to squeeze the space in the middle of the pitch and win the ball back high up the pitch. João Ricardo stands between the posts to organize the defensive line. Fortaleza employs a flat back four where Tinga operates as a right back to provide width and support the attack. E. Brítez and Titi act as the central defenders, with E. Brítez working to win the header and Titi providing cover to sweep behind the high line. B. Pacheco plays as a left back, tasked to track back when the team loses possession and support the left flank.

The midfield is a dense five man unit designed to control the center. Zé Welison and E. Martínez form a double pivot to shield the defence and intercept passes. In front of them, T. Pochettino and Moisés operate as central midfielders who connect the defensive and attacking lines. Y. Pikachu plays as a left sided midfielder, often looking to carry the ball forward and push into the final third. A lone striker, J. Lucero, leads the line as a pressing centre forward. He works to pin the last defender and create space for the midfielders to arrive late into the box.
