The midfield works as a central engine to connect the lines. E. Remedi and C. Ferreira operate as a double pivot to protect the back three and shield the defence. E. Remedi is tasked with sitting deep to recycle possession, while C. Ferreira works to drive forward with the ball. On the flanks, E. Cerutti and M. Braida act as wide midfielders who provide the necessary width. They must track back to help the defenders but also push up to support the attack.

In the final third, San Lorenzo uses three attackers to pin the opposition back. A. Bareiro leads the line as a physical striker, looking to win the header or hold up the ball for his teammates. N. Barrios and I. Leguizamón operate as wingers on either side. N. Barrios tends to cut inside to find space, while I. Leguizamón stays wide to deliver crosses.
