In the middle of the pitch, the team uses a three man midfield with a single pivot. M.Shaparenko sits deep to shield the defense and win the second ball. O.Zinchenko (C) acts as a controller who connects the defensive and attacking lines, using his passing range to find teammates. G.Sudakov plays as an inverted eight, making late runs into the box and driving forward with the ball to create chances.

The attack features a lone striker in A.Dovbyk, who acts as a target man to hold up the ball and win headers. M.Mudryk and V.Tsygankov operate as wide players who cut inside to threaten the goal. M.Mudryk uses his blistering speed to run in behind the defense, while V.Tsygankov looks to find the feet of the striker or deliver early balls into the area. This combination allows Ukraine to stretch the defense through wide movements and central combinations.

This formation offers significant advantages through its ability to press in a mid-block and transition with immense speed. The presence of G.Sudakov and O.Zinchenko (C) allows for numerical superiority in midfield when they push up. Ukraine can also isolate M.Mudryk in one on one situations against tired defenders during counter attacks.
