Citizen focuses on an aggressive, high-pressure identity. This attacking football is played through a 2-4-4 formation that prioritizes offensive numbers over defensive security. The lineup is built to stay in the opposition half, using heavy forward presence to maintain pressure and force turnovers high up the pitch.

Tse Ka Wing acts as the lone goalkeeper to defend the goal. The defensive unit operates with a very high line consisting of only two central defenders, Gabriel Cividini and Marcao. Because of the lack of full backs, Gabriel Cividini and Marcao must be extremely quick to cover the wide areas and step up to intercept through balls. They must also be dominant in the air to clear the lines and win the second ball when the opposition goes direct. This small back two requires constant communication to stay compact and avoid being caught out of position.

The midfield functions as a four-man block to bridge the gap between the defense and the attack. Gerson and Guilhermo Biteco sit in the center to control the tempo and win the ball back. Gerson often looks to carry the ball forward, while Guilhermo Biteco works to recycle possession and connect the lines. Yung Hui To and Lee Ka Ho provide the necessary width, playing as wide midfielders who can push up to support the attack. Yung Hui To and Lee Ka Ho must also be ready to track back and double up on opposition wingers to protect the two defenders.

The attacking unit utilizes four players to stretch and penetrate the opposition. Michel Renner and Luizinho operate as wide attackers who stretch the defence by staying near the touchlines. They look to get to the byline to whip it in for the central duo. Lucas Silva and Kayron work as a partnership in the middle, with Lucas Silva looking to hold up the ball and Kayron looking to run in behind. The attackers use quick combinations and short passes to split the defence with a through ball.

A major strength of this Citizen lineup is the ability to create massive overloads in the final third. Having four players constantly threatening the goal makes it difficult for the opposition to defend the box. The formation also allows the team to press in coordinated waves, using the front four and the midfield to squeeze the space. This formation provides a high level of speed of transition, allowing the team to hit in behind on the transition before the opponent can recover.

This formation is designed for a vertical and relentless attacking style. It is best suited for games where the team needs to overwhelm a defensive opponent through sheer offensive volume.
