Nedved uses his immense stamina and work rate to press aggressively, while Rosicky looks to receive on the half-turn to play through the lines. This group connects the defense to the front two by recycling possession and moving the ball quickly through the thirds.

In the attacking phase, Czechia uses two forwards in a partnership. Koller acts as a target man to hold up the ball and win the header, providing a focal point for the team. Baros plays as a mobile striker, looking to make runs in behind the defense and link up play with the attacking midfielders. The wide areas are less occupied, so the team relies on the midfielders like Poborsky to pull wide and provide service to the strikers. This duo works to pin the last defender and create space for late runs from the midfield.
