To his sides, Elvis Saric and Long Wei occupy the central channels to win the second ball and carry the ball forward. Further up the pitch, Wang Chieng Ming and Li Suda push into the half spaces to create numbers in the final third. This group works to connect the defense to the attack by recycling possession and finding ways to play through the lines.

In the final third, the team uses three attackers to stretch the opposition. Mu Pengfei acts as the lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. On the wings, Milos Milovic and Liu Junshuai provide width, with Milos Milovic looking to cut inside to create shooting opportunities. The attacking unit works to press the opposition back line, forcing long balls that the midfield can then intercept. This setup creates many options for quick combinations and allows the players to isolate defenders in one on one situations.
