Sporting CP looks to dominate through a high press and quick transitions using a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to control the pitch by squeezing the space and winning the ball high up the pitch to catch the opposition before they can settle. The goal is to use aggressive movement to stretch the defence and create chances in the final third through direct attacking play.

F. Israel acts as the last line of defence in goal. The back line functions as a back three, with S. Coates acting as a dominant presence in the air and a leader in the middle. Z. Debast plays as a ball playing defender to help play out from the back, while M. Reis covers the space on the left side. This defensive unit is designed to hold a high line, requiring the defenders to step up to catch opponents offside and keep the team compact.

The midfield operates with two central players to control the middle of the park. M. Hjulmand shields the defence and helps recycle possession, while H. Morita works to win the second ball and drive forward with the ball. Nuno Santos and G. Catamo act as wide midfielders who provide the necessary width to spread the play. These players are tasked to track back when out of possession and provide the link between the back three and the attacking front line.

In the attacking phase, Sporting CP uses three attackers to pin the last defender. V. Giokeres acts as a pressing centre-forward who uses his strength to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. M.
