Starting Lineup

Nevistic · Llorente · Theophill · RPG · Ogiwara · Sučić · Baturina · Čerin · Beljo · Stojković · Pjaca

Dinamo focuses on a high press and verticality with a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and attack with speed to catch opponents out of position. The team looks to move the ball forward quickly once they win possession to exploit spaces behind the opposition defense.

Nevistic guards the goal as the starting goalkeeper. The back line operates as a flat back four with Ogiwara acting as an attacking full back on the left side. RPG plays as a right back to provide balance while Theophill and Llorente form the central pair. Theophill and Llorente stay close together to defend zonally and protect the space behind the midfield. They must step up to maintain a high line and compress the space when Dinamo pushes forward.

A three man midfield provides the engine for this system. Čerin acts as a single pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession. Beside him, Sučić and Baturina occupy the half spaces to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Sučić works to drive forward with the ball while Baturina looks to play through the lines to find the attackers. This midfield unit works to win the second ball and press aggressively in a mid block to force turnovers.

The attacking unit uses three attackers across the front to stretch the defense. Beljo acts as a pressing centre forward who works to pin the last defender. On the flanks, Pjaca and Stojković operate as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goalscoring chances. Pjaca looks to move into central areas while Stojković seeks to isolate defenders in one on one situations. This front line creates runs in behind and uses the width provided by the full backs to attack in combinations.

One major advantage for Dinamo is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to win it back high up the pitch. The team also benefits from numerical superiority in the midfield when the full backs push up. This allows the players to control the tempo and quickly transition into attack. The movement of the wingers and the passing range of the central midfielders create many chances in tight spaces.

This 4-3-3 formation relies on intense pressing and rapid vertical transitions. It is a system best suited for dominating games against teams that struggle to play out from the back.
