SONNY sits in the center to command the area and win the header, while CURTIS and EIRAN cover the wide channels to prevent runs in behind. The defensive unit functions by keeping the distances small between the players to prevent the opposition from playing through the lines.

The midfield features a three-man midfield with a carrier and wide players to provide width. KOREY and LOUIE work in the central zones to shield the defense and win the second ball. LIAM plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to connect the midfield and the front line. EBOU and KANE act as wide midfielders who provide the width, pushing up to overlap when the team has the ball. This group aims to compress the midfield and make it difficult for the opponent to find space.

Derby utilizes two forwards in a partnership to lead the line. NATHANIEL and JAMES act as a strike duo, with NATHANIEL working to find the feet of the striker while JAMES makes runs in behind. The attacking line is designed to press the opposition back line immediately upon losing the ball. The team builds attacks by moving the ball through LIAM or using the width from EBOU and KANE to stretch the defense. They look to create chances through quick combinations in the final third.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads from the combination of the wingers and the wide center backs. Derby can also achieve numerical superiority in midfield when LIAM joins the central players. This setup allows for a high press in coordinated waves, making it very difficult for opponents to play out from the back.
