LUCIC KALINIC BULJAN SILI · ŠARLIJA, PRPA · UREM, ELEZ · MELJO, DIALLO, HRGOVIC · MOUFI, ĐOLONGA · ŽAPER, CAP, JURAK, KAVELJ · KROV, KALIK · SIGUR, PUKI, SKOKO, ĆUB · SAHITI, DURDOV, BRAJK · PERA, ŠOŠIĆ · LIVAJA, TRAJKO, ANTUNOVICHajduk looks to control the tempo through a high press and quick transitions using a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and use vertical passes to catch the opposition out of position. The goal is to pin the opponent in their own half by maintaining a high line and forcing errors in the build up.
LUCIC KALINIC BULJAN SILI operates between the posts to organize the defensive line. The back four functions as a zonal line with UREM and ELEZ acting as the right sided central defenders to win the second ball. On the left, ŠARLIJA and PRPA provide cover and strength in the air. Wide defenders MOUFI and ĐOLONGA at right back and MELJO, DIALLO, or HRGOVIC at left back push high to provide width, while the central defenders must stay compact to prevent being caught by long balls.
The midfield operates with a single pivot to provide a shield for the back line. ŽAPER, CAP, JURAK, or KAVELJ sits deep to receive the ball from the defenders and recycle possession. In front of him, KROV or KALIK acts as an inverted eight to connect the lines, while SIGUR, PUKI, SKOKO, or ĆUB works to drive forward with the ball. This midfield unit aims to squeeze the space in the center and intercept passes before they reach the opposition attackers.
In the final third, Hajduk employs three attackers to stretch the defence. LIVAJA, TRAJKO, or ANTUNOVIC leads the line as a pressing centre forward to disrupt the opponent. On the wings, PERA or ŠOŠIĆ on the left and SAHITI, DURDOV, or BRAJK on the right act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central overloads. These attackers look to play one-two combinations to break the line and create runs in behind the defenders.
This formation offers Hajduk significant numerical superiority in the central areas when the midfielders step up. The ability to press in high waves makes it difficult for opponents to play short from the back. By using wide attackers to pull defenders out of position, the team can create space for late runs into the box from the midfielders.
Hajduk relies on high intensity and quick ball movement to dominate games. This setup is best suited for facing teams that try to play out from the back and leave space behind their midfield.
