This pairing stays compact to avoid being split by through balls.

In the center of the pitch, Liverpool uses a double pivot to control the middle. Gravenberch and Bajcetic form this central unit, with Gravenberch using his driving ability to carry the ball forward and link the defense to the attack. Bajcetic works to shield the two central defenders and press in a mid-block to disrupt the opponent. On the flanks, Bradley and Tsimikas act as wide midfielders who provide width and support the attacking front.

The attack is extremely aggressive with four players pushing high. Jota and Carvalho operate as two central forwards, with Jota looking to find the feet of the striker or make runs in behind. Elliott plays as an inverted winger on the right, cutting inside to create space for Tsimikas to push up. On the left, Jones plays as an inverted winger to help the midfield dominate the half-spaces. This front four is designed to press from the front and force a long ball from the opposition.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages through its ability to press high in coordinated waves. By committing so many players forward, Liverpool can create wide overloads and force the opposition into mistakes. The numerical superiority in the attacking third makes it very difficult for a back four to track every runner.
