Racing Club Football Formation
Starting Lineup
SOSA · GARCIA BASSO · MARTIRENA · DI CESARE · ARIAS · ALMENDRA · REFUERZO · ROJAS · SALAS · A. MARTINEZ · BALTASARRacing Club prioritizes a direct and high energy game, utilizing a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup is built to control the central areas of the pitch while maintaining enough bodies in the middle to win the second ball. The team looks to use their central presence to dominate play and launch quick attacks once the ball is won.
In goal, ARIAS stays focused to manage the defensive line. The back three consists of SOSA, DI CESARE, and GARCIA BASSO. SOSA acts as the central figure in this defensive unit, providing strength in the air and organizing the line. DI CESARE and GARCIA BASSO operate as wide centre-backs, stepping up to intercept passes or covering the space left by the wide players. This back three functions as a compact unit that can shift left or right to squeeze the space against the opposition.
The midfield is the engine of Racing Club, operating with a heavy central presence. REFUERZO and ALMENDRA form a powerful pairing that shields the defence and drives the ball forward into the attacking third. BALTASAR plays as an attacking ten, finding pockets of space between the lines to create chances. On the flanks, ROJAS and MARTIRENA act as wing backs, providing width and stretching the defence. They are tasked with tracking back to help the defenders and pushing up to support the attack.
The attack uses two forwards in a partnership to pressure the opposition back line. A. MARTINEZ and SALAS work in close proximity to combine in tight spaces. A. MARTINEZ leads the line, looking to find the feet of the striker or make runs in behind. SALAS works alongside him to pull defenders away and create openings. This front two relies on the service from the wide players and the late runs of BALTASAR to create scoring opportunities in transition.
Racing Club offers significant tactical advantages through their midfield density. By playing with five in the middle, they can achieve numerical superiority against many four man midfield units. The ability of ROJAS and MARTIRENA to provide width allows the team to transition from a narrow defensive block to an expansive attacking setup very quickly. This allows them to isolate wide players in one on one situations when they can quickly switch play.
This 3-5-2 formation is built for a team that wants to dominate the center of the pitch and play with high intensity. It is particularly effective against teams that play a narrow formation and struggle to deal with wide wing backs.
