Independiente aims to play a very vertical game focused on quick transitions and heavy pressure. The team utilizes a 2-4-4 formation to overwhelm the opposition in the final third. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and move it forward with speed to catch the opponent out of position.

Rodrigo Rey sits between the posts to manage the defensive line. The defensive unit relies on a narrow back two consisting of Joaquin and Juan M. These two central defenders must stay compact and work together to defend the central zone. Because there are no wide defenders, Joaquin and Juan M often have to cover large spaces when the team loses possession. They need to be strong in the air and quick to intercept passes to prevent direct attacks.

The midfield is a four man unit designed to control the center of the pitch. Damian Perez acts as the single pivot to shield the defense and win the second ball. Moving ahead of him, santiago, Ivan, and David Martinez operate in the middle to link the defense to the attack. Ivan and David Martinez work to drive forward with the ball and progress through the thirds. Santiago helps to press aggressively to win the ball high, while the whole group works to recycle possession and switch play to the wings.

A heavy attacking presence is maintained with four players across the front. Santiago Lopez and Gabriel Avalos operate as two center forwards, providing a dual threat in the box. Santiago Hidalgo plays as a wide winger on the left to stretch the defense, while Alex Luna stays wide on the right to provide width. This front line is designed to pin the last defender and make runs in behind. The team looks to deliver early crosses or play one twos to create chances for the two strikers.

Independiente can create significant numerical superiority in the attacking half by flooding the opponent's defensive line. This formation also allows for a high press in coordinated waves, making it difficult for the opposition to build out from the back. The speed of transition from the midfield unit to the four attackers makes the team dangerous when they win the ball.
