In the attacking third, the team utilizes three attackers to stretch the defence. A. Isak operates as a lone striker who holds up the ball and looks to run in behind the defense. On the wings, M. Almiron and A. Gordon provide significant width. M. Almiron stays wide to create space, whereas A. Gordon cuts inside to attack the space between the fullback and the centre back. This front three works to press the opposition back line constantly, looking to create chances through quick combinations or cutbacks from the byline.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads when T. Livramento and D. Burn push forward to join the wingers. This forces the opposition to defend large areas of the pitch. Another strength is the compactness when defending, as the team can quickly drop into a low block with a narrow defensive block that is very hard to break down centrally.
