Vanaken is known for his passing range and ability to control the rhythm, often dropping deep to receive the ball and recycle possession.

Club Brugge employs three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. Skov Olsen plays as an inverted winger on the right and cuts inside to create goal threats, while Tzolis operates on the left wing. Nilsson plays as the lone striker and works to hold up the ball and pin the last defender. The attackers press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition, and the wingers look to isolate a one on one wide or deliver crosses when they get to the byline.
