Starting Lineup

Atlético plays with a heavy high press and a vertical identity in a 4-2-4 formation. The team is built to win the ball high up the pitch and strike quickly before the opponent can settle. This formation allows the players to keep bodies high to pressure the opposition back line and force errors.

De Paul acts as the carrier who drives forward with the ball and presses aggressively to win the ball back high up the pitch. Together, they aim to squeeze the space and prevent opponents from playing through the lines.

The attack features four players who press from the front. Lino plays as an inverted winger on the left who likes to cut inside, while Correa stays wide on the right to stretch the defence. Griezmann operates as a second striker in the hole, finding space to play quick passes and link up play between the lines. Omorodion serves as a target man to hold up the ball and win the second ball. This lineup is designed to create runs in behind and deliver early crosses into the box.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages, particularly the speed of transition.
