Levski focuses on a high press and quick transitions through a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup is built to dominate the middle of the pitch and use the width of the field to stretch opponents. The team aims to win the ball back high up the pitch and immediately look to hit the opposition in behind.

The goalkeeper acts as the first point of distribution when the team plays out from the back. A back three consisting of the CB, LCB, and RCB forms a narrow defensive block to protect the central areas. The RCB and LCB work to cover wide spaces when the wing backs push high, while the CB stays central to win the header and clear the lines. This unit works to maintain a high line to keep the team compact.

In the middle of the pitch, Levski utilizes a three-man midfield with a carrier and wide specialists. The CDM sits in front of the back three to shield the defence and deny the pivot. The LCM and RCM work to connect the defensive and attacking lines, with one often dropping to help the build up. The LWB and RWB provide the necessary width, often acting as attacking wing backs to overlap the midfield and provide crosses. This central trio works to win the second ball and recycle possession quickly.

The attack uses two forwards in a partnership to pin the last defender. The LCF and RCF operate as a pair, often looking to combine in tight spaces or make runs in behind. They press the opposition back line to force a long ball. When the team moves into the final third, the LWB and RWB stretch the defence, allowing the LCF or RCF to find space for a one-two or a cutback from the byline.

Levski finds success through wide overloads from the wing backs and numerical superiority in midfield. By having five players in the middle, they can often squeeze the space and win it back high up the pitch. This formation also allows for great flexibility to shift between a back five when defending deep and a more aggressive attacking lineup.

This 3-5-2 formation is a heavy pressing system designed to control the tempo through the center. It is best suited for games against teams that play with a single pivot or struggle to manage wide overloads.
