Starting Lineup

Boca aims to control matches through high pressing and verticality in a 4-3-3. This formation builds a team capable of winning the ball high up the pitch and moving quickly toward the goal. The lineup relies on heavy pressure to force mistakes and rapid transitions to punish any gaps left by the opposition.

Brey guards the goal as the last line of defense. In front of him, a flat back four protects the central area. Advincula acts as an attacking full back to provide width on the right, while Blanco handles the left flank. Alonso and Anselmino form the central pairing, where they must hold the line and defend zonally. Alonso provides stability, while Anselmino covers space behind the line when the team pushes up. This defensive unit works to squeeze the space between the lines and keep the team compact.

The midfield consists of a three man midfield with a single pivot. Miramon sits in front of the defense to shield the back four and recycle possession. On either side, Medina and Galoppo operate as inverted eights. Medina connects the defensive and attacking lines by carrying the ball forward, while Galoppo presses aggressively to win the ball in the middle third. This trio works to control the center of the pitch and ensures the team can transition from defense to attack through quick passing.

Boca employs three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. Cavani acts as the main striker, using his movement to pin the last defender and hold up the ball for others. Zeballos and Torres play as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goal scoring chances. Zeballos looks to find space in the half spaces, while Torres aims to isolate the full back one on one. These forwards press from the front to trigger a press and create opportunities through combinations in the final third.

This formation offers several tactical advantages for Boca. The team can create wide overloads when Advincula and Torres combine on the right flank. There is also a strong ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the front three and the midfield trio to suffocate the opponent. This collective movement makes it difficult for the opposition to build play out from the back without facing immediate pressure.
