Kotarski stands between the posts to organize the defensive unit. The back line operates as a flat back four with Koulierakis and Kedziora occupying the central positions. Koulierakis acts as a ball playing defender to start attacks, while Kedziora provides cover. On the flanks, Baba and Jonny play as full backs. While Baba is expected to track back and cover the left side, Jonny pushes up to provide width. The unit tries to hold a high line to squeeze the space and support the press.

The midfield functions as a double pivot consisting of Meite and Ozdoev. They work to protect the center of the pitch and prevent counter attacks. Meite acts as a carrier to drive the ball forward, while Ozdoev sits deeper to shield the defense and recycle possession. This pairing is tasked with breaking the line with passes and connecting the back four to the four attackers. They must be ready to win the second ball and immediately look to spread wide to the wingers. They play to win it back high up the pitch to keep the pressure on.

The attacking unit is extremely aggressive with four players positioned high. Taison and Zivkovic operate as wide wingers, with Taison looking to cut inside from the left to create chaos. Zivkovic stays wide to stretch the defense and deliver crosses. In the center, Konstantelias and Brandon work as a partnership. Konstantelias often drops into the hole to link play, acting as a second striker, while Brandon acts as a pressing centre forward to pin the last defender. This lineup creates runs in behind and relies on quick combinations in the box.

PAOK finds success by creating wide overloads and maintaining a high press in coordinated waves. The presence of four attackers makes it hard for opponents to defend the width and the center at the same time. When they win the ball high up the pitch, they can hit in behind on the transition with great speed. This formation allows them to isolate wide players in one on one situations frequently. They use the width to stretch the defense before looking to play through the lines.
