Gattoni function as the central defenders, with G. Pírez tasked to cover the space while F. Gattoni uses his aerial strength to win the second ball. The unit must hold a high line to keep the team compact.

The midfield utilizes a double pivot to bridge the gap between the defense and the attack. M. Kranevitter acts as the single pivot who shields the defense and breaks up play, while R. Aliendro works as the other half of the pairing to connect the lines. R. Aliendro is known for his ability to carry the ball forward and drive into the half spaces. This two-man unit must work tirelessly to cover ground, as they can be outnumbered if they do not press effectively.

In the attacking third, River uses two central forwards supported by two wide attackers. A. Bareiro* leads the line as a pressing centre-forward, working closely with F. Colidio to pin the last defender. The width comes from M. Lanzini and F. Mastantuono, who operate as inverted wingers. M. Lanzini looks to cut inside to create chances, while F. Mastantuono uses his dribbling style to beat his marker and look for cutbacks from the byline. This front four focuses on quick combinations to split the defense with a through ball.

This formation offers significant advantages through its ability to create wide overloads and provide numerical superiority in the attacking third. The team can isolate wide players in one on one situations by using the movement of the two strikers to pull center backs out of position.
