Starting Lineup

Leeds prioritizes a high press and quick vertical play through a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and move forward with pace. The team seeks to squeeze the space in the opponent half to create turnover opportunities.

Roman acts as the last line of defense. The back line functions as a flat back four where Charlie plays as an attacking full back to provide width. On the opposite side, Cjax works to overlap the winger while maintaining the defensive line. Big Man and AI / Backup operate as central defenders, with Big Man using his aerial strength to win headers and AI / Backup acting as a covering defender to sweep behind a high line. The unit works to maintain a high line to keep the team compact.

The midfield operates with a single pivot to anchor the center. Lecker sits in front of the defense to shield the back four and recycle possession. Beside him, Jadon and Kayz act as two inverted eights who connect the lines. Jadon drives forward with the ball to break the line, while Kayz looks to arrive late into the box to support the attack. This three man midfield works to compress the midfield and win the second ball when the initial press fails.

Leeds uses three attackers across the front to stretch the defense. Marshall acts as a pressing centre forward who leads the line and tries to pin the last defender. Chozen and Tidy occupy the wide areas as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central threats. They look to isolate a one on one wide or play a one two with Marshall to penetrate the penalty area. The front three press the opposition back line to force a long ball and regain control quickly.

One major advantage for Leeds is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. The front three and midfield work together to trigger a press that can catch opponents in transition. Another strength is the width provided by Charlie and Cjax, which creates wide overloads when they push up to overlap the wingers. This allows the team to switch play effectively and find space in the half spaces.
