Haaland and Mbappe operate as a central partnership, with Haaland acting as a target man while Mbappe looks to run in behind. Vini. Jr and Savinho occupy the wide areas as inverted wingers who cut inside to create chaos. This front four is designed to press from the front and force the opposition back into their own box, often looking to hit in behind on the transition.

One major advantage for Citizen is the speed of transition through the forward line. The presence of Haaland and Mbappe allows the team to go direct and score quickly once the ball is won.
