The attacking front line consists of three players tasked with breaking the defensive line. RADUCIOIU leads the way as the striker, acting to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. DUMITRESCU operates as an inverted winger on the left to cut inside and create space. HAGI plays on the right and looks to exploit one on one situations by taking on his marker. These three attackers press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition. They look to make runs in behind to exploit gaps in the defense.

Romania benefits from the wide overloads created by PETRESCU and MUNTEANU working alongside the front three. The numerical superiority in the wide areas allows the team to switch play effectively and find openings.
