Starting Lineup

DARNASSER (Ahmed) · JALLAD (Yahya) · MOHAMED (Imad) · FAREED (Alaa) · THEYABAT (Omar) · JAFFREH (Abdelhamid) · SAMARA (Muhannad) · YAHYA (YOUSEF) · ABDI (Salim Ahmed) · HOLSTON (Omar) · JALLOW (MOUNIRU)

Egypt seeks to control the rhythm through a high press and direct attacking play using a 4-3-3. This lineup is built to win the ball back high up the pitch and quickly transition into dangerous attacking situations. The team wants to move the ball through the thirds with speed to catch the opposition out of position.

Jallow acts as the last line of defense in goal. The defensive unit functions as a flat back four where Abdi and Samara provide width from the flanks. Abdi works as a defensive wing back to provide balance, while Samara can push higher to support the attack. In the middle, Holston and Jaffreh operate as central defenders, with Holston acting as a ball playing defender to start play from the back. They must hold the line and remain compact to prevent runners from breaking through.

The midfield operates as a three-man midfield with a carrier and a holding role. Mohamed acts as the single pivot to shield the defence and recycle possession. Yahya and Theyabat play as the two central midfielders who connect the defensive and attacking lines. Yahya looks to carry the ball forward to drive the play, while Theyabat works to win the second ball and press aggressively in the middle. This group works together to squeeze the space and prevent opponents from playing through the middle.

Egypt uses three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. Darnasser plays as a pressing centre-forward to lead the line and find the feet of the striker. On the wings, Fareed and Jallad act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central threats. They look to pull wide to spread the defence before cutting in to play through the lines. The goal is to create runs in behind and allow the wide players to receive on the half-turn to attack the box.

This formation offers several tactical advantages for Egypt. The team can create wide overloads from overlapping full backs when Samara pushes up. They also possess the ability to press high in coordinated waves to force a long ball from the opposition. This high intensity makes it difficult for opponents to build play comfortably from the back.

The 4-3-3 lineup focuses on high intensity pressing and quick vertical transitions. It is best suited for games against teams that struggle to play out from the back under pressure.
