Federico Dimarco and Denzel Dumfries act as attacking wing backs, pushing high to provide width and overlapping the midfielders to create overloads.

The attack utilizes a partnership of two forwards to pin the last defender. Lautaro Martinez acts as a pressing centre forward who works hard to disrupt the build up, while Marcus Thuram provides physical presence and runs in behind. They combine in tight spaces to play one twos and create chaos in the box. The team attacks in combinations, often using the width from Dimarco and Dumfries to deliver crosses or cutbacks from the byline for the strikers to attack the far post.

This formation offers significant numerical superiority in midfield, making it difficult for opponents to find passing lanes. The ability to press in coordinated waves from the front three and the wing backs allows Inter to win it back high up the pitch. The wide overloads created by the wing backs force the opposition to pull defenders out of position, opening gaps for Martinez and Thuram to exploit.
