Starting Lineup

PONA · JOACO · PIBI · PIPA · CHINCHU · BEBE · SANTI · EZE · AGU · NAHUE · FACU

Alte. Brown focuses on a compact defensive identity using a 5-3-2. This formation is built to sit deep and hit opponents on the transition. The lineup aims to squeeze the space between the lines and rely on quick vertical movements once the ball is won back.

Pona operates between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit uses a back three composed of Bebe, Pipa, and Pibi. Bebe acts as the central defender to command the area and win headers, while Pipa and Pibi cover the spaces to the left and right. The wide defenders, Joaco and Chinchu, function as attacking wing backs. They are tasked to provide width and cover the flanks, pushing up to support the attack while tracking back to prevent crosses.

The midfield works as a three man midfield with a carrier. Eze and Santi occupy the central spaces to control the tempo and press in a mid-block. Eze works to connect the defensive and attacking lines by receiving the ball from the defenders. Santi provides energy to win the second ball and disrupt the opposition. Agu plays as an attacking ten behind the strikers, looking to find pockets of space between the lines and play through the lines to feed the forwards.

Alte. Brown employs two forwards in a partnership. Nahue and Facu act as a dual threat up top, often working in combinations to pull defenders out of position. Nahue can hold up the ball to allow the midfield to join the play, while Facu looks to make runs in behind the defensive line. The attack relies on the movement of Agu to create a central presence. When the team wins possession, the wing backs Joaco and Chinchu push high to stretch the defence, creating space for the strikers to work in one on one situations.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages through its defensive compactness. The back five makes it very difficult for opponents to find gaps in the central areas. Additionally, the team can create wide overloads as Joaco and Chinchu push forward to join the attacking movements. This allows Alte. Brown to shift quickly from a defensive block to a dangerous attacking unit.

This 5-3-2 setup provides a solid base for teams that want to deny space and strike with speed. It is best suited for matches against ball dominant opponents where the team needs to defend deep and counter at pace.
