Nevistić acts as the last line of defense in goal. The back line operates as a back five, with Sučić anchoring the middle as a central defender. Mmaee and Theophile sit on either side of him, acting as wide centre-backs to cover the channels and win headers. Ristovski and Pierre-Gabriel play as attacking wing backs, pushing high to provide width and overlap the wingers. This defensive unit works to hold a compact shape when the ball is lost, often dropping into a mid-block to protect the center.

The midfield consists of a two-man unit that must work tirelessly to cover the ground. Mišić acts as the primary ball winner, looking to intercept passes and shield the back five. Baturina plays alongside him to connect the defense to the attack, using his passing range to find the forwards. These two midfielders must press in pairs to prevent the opposition from playing through the center, while also being ready to drive forward and carry the ball into the half-spaces.

In the attacking phase, Dinamo uses three attackers across the front to pin the last defender. Petković operates as a lone striker, using his hold up the ball ability to link with the wider players. Hoxha and Pjaca play as wingers who look to cut inside or spread wide to deliver crosses. They press from the front to force a long ball, creating space for the wing backs to arrive late into the box. The goal is to create combinations in tight spaces and find the feet of the striker to break the line.

One major advantage for Dinamo is the wide overload provided by Ristovski and Pierre-Gabriel when they push forward. This creates numerical superiority in the wide areas, forcing the opposition to pull defenders out of position.
