Ramirez and Makreckis act as two central midfielders who carry the ball forward and press aggressively in a mid-block. Abu Fani sits in the hole as an attacking ten to play through the lines and find the feet of the strikers. This unit works to compress the midfield and deny the turn to opposition players.

The attacking unit consists of four players tasked with stretching the defense. Ben Romdhane and Traoré act as wide wingers who hug the touchline to provide width. Zachariassen and Gruber lead the line as two forwards in a partnership. They work to hold up the ball and find each other through quick passes. The wingers look to get to the byline and deliver crosses or cut it back for the strikers to finish.

A major advantage for Ferencváros is the ability to create wide overloads and numerical superiority in the final third. With four attackers, the team can pin the last defender and create many chances in the box. The high press from the front line can force a long ball from the opposition.
