Starting Lineup

Hermansen · Ricardo Pereira · Vestergaard · Faes · Justin · Ndidi · Winks · Skipp · Vardy · Fatawu · Mavididi

Leicester plays with a high press and heavy emphasis on verticality in a 4-3-3. The team seeks to win the ball high up the pitch and hit the opposition quickly. This formation allows Leicester to maintain pressure in the attacking third while staying ready to transition the moment possession is regained.

Hermansen operates between the posts as the goalkeeper. The back line sits as a flat back four with Justin acting as the left back and Ricardo Pereira as the right back. Vestergaard and Faes form the central pairing, where Vestergaard uses his aerial strength and Faes works to cover the space behind. Justin and Ricardo Pereira push high to provide width, while the central defenders focus on holding the line and clearing the lines when under pressure.

The midfield functions with a single pivot system. Winks sits in front of the defense to shield the back four and recycle possession. Beside him, Ndidi and Skipp act as two inverted eights who press aggressively to win the ball high. Ndidi uses his high pressing intensity to disrupt play, while Skipp looks to carry the ball forward and link the defensive unit to the attack. This three man midfield works to compress the midfield and win the second ball.

Up front, the attack utilizes three attackers across the front. Vardy acts as a pressing centre forward, constantly looking to run in behind the defense. On the flanks, Mavididi and Fatawu operate as wide wingers who want to cut inside or get to the byline. Fatawu looks to use his dribbling style to beat his man, while Mavididi provides width. The team builds the attack through quick combinations, looking to find the feet of the striker or slip a through ball to the runners.

One major advantage for Leicester is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. The frontline and midfield work together to squeeze the space and force a long ball from the opponent. Another strength is the speed of transition, as the wingers and Vardy are always ready to sprint once the ball is turned over. This creates constant pressure on the opposition back line.

This 4-3-3 formation relies on intense pressing and rapid vertical movements. It is best suited for games where the team can exploit a high defensive line or overwhelm an opponent in the transition.
