A two man midfield serves as the engine room for Dinamo. Mišić acts as a deep lying playmaker, dropping deep to collect the ball and recycle possession. Baturina plays as an inverted eight, looking to carry the ball forward and find gaps between the lines. This pair must work hard to cover the central spaces when the wing backs push high. They connect the defensive unit to the front three by playing through the lines to find the attackers.

The attack features three players across the front to stretch the defence. Petković acts as a pressing centre forward who works to hold up the ball and link up with his teammates. On the flanks, Hoxha and Pjaca play as wide wingers who stay high to pin the last defender. Pjaca looks to cut inside to create chances, while Hoxha pulls wide to deliver crosses. This front line is designed to create runs in behind and exploit spaces left by advancing full backs.
