Šamorín Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Vadovič · Vodera · Makky · Janitor · Eze · Boledovič · Charvát · Havlík · Cserepkai · Kán · ŠulákŠamorín relies on a vertical style of play using a 5-2-3 formation. This lineup is built to strike quickly on the transition and use the width of the pitch to stretch the opposition. The team looks to defend in a compact block before moving the ball forward rapidly to the front three.
Eze sits between the posts to command the area. The defensive unit functions as a back five with Boledovič acting as the central figure to sweep behind the line and win headers. Vodera and Makky operate as the wide centre-backs to cover the channels and defend the half spaces. Vadovič and Janitor play as attacking wing backs to provide width. Vadovič pushes high to overlap the winger while Janitor carries the ball forward to support the left side. This back five unit works to squeeze the space and hold a compact shape when the opposition has the ball.
The midfield operates as a double pivot consisting of Charvát and Havlík. These two players must work hard to shield the defence and win the second ball in the middle of the pitch. Charvát and Havlík are tasked to connect the defensive line to the attack by playing short from the back and then looking to break the line. They need to track back to help the wing backs and ensure they do not get outnumbered in the center.
Šamorín employs three attackers across the front to pressure the opposition back line. Šulák acts as the lone striker to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. Kán and Cserepkai play as wide wingers who stay close to the touchline to spread the defence. Both Kán and Cserepkai look to cut inside to create goal scoring chances or deliver a cross from deep. The front three press from the front to force a long ball and win it back high up the pitch.
This formation offers Šamorín significant advantages in wide overloads. When Vadovič and Janitor push forward, they create numerical superiority against the opposition full backs. The team also benefits from a strong defensive foundation that makes them hard to break down. The speed of transition allows the team to hit opponents in behind before they can get organized.
This 5-2-3 formation provides Šamorín with a heavy defensive base and lethal counter attacking potential. It is best suited for games against teams that hold a lot of possession and leave space behind their defensive line.
